John & Tuyen's Wedding - 30th July 2016

John and Tuyen were married in a traditional church service held at Our Lady of Lourdes, Wanstead. Following the ceremony, the wedding reception was held at Yi-Ban, a fine dining Chinese restaurant based in Greenwich, London's Docklands. Serving traditional Chinese cuisine in a contemporary setting, John and Tuyen held a traditional oriental wedding reception at Yi-Ban, which consisted of a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony and lots of delicious food. A traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony involves an exchange of rings, vows and a paying of respect to the couple's parents, families and ancestors. The tea ceremony is significant in Vietnamese culture, as it is a time where family members are formally introduced to the bride and groom and a chance for the couple to show respect and appreciation to their parents and family for all of the love and sacrifice that they have received throughout their lives, through the offering of tea.
