So we finally tied the knot after 12 years together! It was a wonderful wedding day held in the gorgeous De Montfort Suite at the Town Hall Hotel. Matt has always wanted to hold a dinner party in this room and that's exactly what we did. We wanted a casual, relaxed and intimate wedding. I wasn't expecting any overseas guests to fly all the way from Oz so made the day even more special to have them present. The day was filled with lots of laughter, a few emotional tears and heaps of confetti!
our happily ever after..
Behind the scenes Wedding Preparation
The Wedding Dress - I already had a dress but whilst out shopping with my sisters decided to pop in David's Bridal for fun. Luckily we did as we found THE dress! It was actually the first dress I saw and tried on. We weren't sure about the side cut outs so had extra layers of tulle added. My siblings ended up getting the dress as a wedding present, what a gift!
The Other Wedding Dresses
The Make-Up Trial - my sister did a great job transforming me from a zombie into a blushing bride. She's is not a trained make-up artist but watches lots of youtube videos.
The Flowers - All brides have a thing they are obsessed about, mine was clearly the flower decorations. Massive thank you to Yen and Charisse for waking up at 5.30am to help me with the flowers. The New Covent Garden Market is the largest wholesale flower market in the UK but you have to get there early. It was a trek coming back on the train with boxes of flowers, a grandma trolley and at peak hour traffic. It was a mission but we survived and so did the flowers.
I started collecting glass jars and blue yogurt pots, it's amazing how much you start to build up. Who knew finishing a pickle jar would bring so much excitement. I drove Matt nuts with all of this but was all worth it in the end. I loved creating the table flowers, it was actually quite therapeutic. The transportation of them to the venue was a different story. We were fortunate a friend was staying in the hotel (thanks Pauline) so at 10pm the night before the wedding, Matt and I was running around getting my wonderful creations to the venue. I didn't get much sleep, was painting my nails at midnight and then early wake-up to set up the venue. Would I do this all again? Yes! Would have just got more flowers! Just needed more hands.

Special thanks to Ngoc who helped me set up the venue in the morning
