10-11 Carlton House Terrace Wedding
Sam & Amelia
“Grace was AMAZING. We loved her informal, beautiful style and she made us feel so comfortable. The photos captured every feeling from the day. We didn’t want to spend loads of time away from the wedding taking lots of formal photo, but did nip out after dinner for some photos at dusk just the 2 of us and we loved the results in such a great light with such a London-looking background.”

After rearranging their wedding day not once, but three times due to COVID, it really is a pleasure to be able to share Amelia and Sam’s special day with you. This lovely couple simply wanted to have all their friends and family, together in one place to celebrate and have a good time. Having lived in London for ten years, they knew they wanted to tie the knot in the capital. The vibe of their special day was relaxed and happy, with good food, good music and good drinks at the top of their priority list. Without further ado, I bring you, the newlyweds…
Amelia and Sam chose 10-11 Carlton House Terrace as the backdrop to their big day. “It was such a hidden gem! You can’t get more central in London but it was somehow so quiet; and it’s such an incredibly beautiful venue we didn’t have to spend any money on decorations. The people were absolutely incredible- we felt in very safe hands the whole way through,” Amelia explains.

The bride wore a Morilee (Madeline Gardner) wedding dress which she found when she was back in her hometown. The groom wanted a suit that could be worn again, and opted for a tailored ensemble from Reiss, a Liberty Print tie and shoes from Loake.
10-11 Carlton House Terrace has a music room, which was the perfect place for Amelia and Sam’s ceremony. Their university friend Milly sang ‘The Way I Am’ by Ingrid Michaelson as the bride walked down the aisle. “Sam and I couldn’t stop smiling the whole way through, and there was a lot of cheering and clapping when we made it official. Seeing a full room of people (yet alone our favourite people) was amazing after the last few years too!”
The venue was effortlessly beautiful and therefore didn’t require too much in terms of decoration. Although Amelia and Sam didn’t specifically choose a colour scheme, they ended up with lots of navy, pink, green and white hues throughout their celebration. They opted for ‘Ready to Wear’ florals by Grace & Thorn, a delicious wedding cake from Waitrose with added fruit and flowers, and On-The-Day stationery by Papier.
For their honeymoon, the couple spent 10 days soaking up the sunshine in Malta. Here are Amelia’s most memorable moments from her wedding day…
-
Walking into the ceremony room and ‘feeling the buzz’ of seeing everyone there
-
Sam’s incredible wedding speech
-
Being so happy as we actually got married, and the 5 minutes straight afterwards before we walked out for the confetti
-
Dancing the night away after 1.5 years in lockdown, with everyone enjoying themselves after a few drinks
I hope you enjoyed being a part of this couple’s stylish city celebration! A huge thank you to the newlyweds for choosing me to document your day – it was an absolute joy.
